Cleaner greener production is the application of integrated preventive environmental strategies
to processes, products and services to increase overall efficiency and reduce risks to humans and
the environment.
This means:

Better environmental performance |

Better business |

Better efficiency |

Lower costs |

Lower emissions |

Less waste |

Less resource consumption |
Production processes:
Conserving raw materials and energy, eliminating toxic raw materials and reducing the quantity and
toxicity of all emissions and wastes.
Products:
Reducing negative impacts along the life cycle of a product, from raw materials extraction to its
ultimate disposal.
Much of the current thinking on environmental protection focuses on what to do with wastes and
emissions after they have been created. Cleaner greener production aims to reduce consumption of
resources and avoid generating pollution in the first place. This type of strategy can cut costs,
reduce risks and identify new opportunities. It can often be the most efficient way to operate
processes, produce goods or provide services. The costs of waste, emissions and environmental
and health impacts can be reduced, allowing businesses to reap the benefits.
Tech Group And Cleaner Greener Production Programme
Tech Group Europe was awarded the CGPP grant by the Environmental Protection Agency of Ireland
in 2002. The company's project entitled "Minimization of Energy Usage and Waste" involves:

Installation of intelligent motor controllers and barrel lagging jackets on injection moulding machines. |

Reducing rates of scrap and recycling scrap plastic. |

Altering the process to minimize losses of raw material. |
The anticipated outputs will a reduction in costs, energy usage and waste production, increased
reliability and lifetime of equipment and reduction of CO2 emissions. Also there is increased
awareness of 'Cleaner Greener Production' among our employees and suppliers.
