Steve Uhlmann
Chairman
After studying product design at Arizona State University, Steve Uhlmann decided to pursue a career in the plastics industry, starting the company that would become The Tech Group in 1967. The Tech Group maintains a focus on product development, mold construction and automated assembly for high volume tight, tolerance injection molded plastic components. It is a privately held company with approximately 2,000 employees worldwide and revenues of $140 million. It has plant sites in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Europe, Singapore, Philippines and China.
Steve was named Arizona's 1998 Entrepreneur of the Year in the Manufacturing/High Tech category. He is past president of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Arizona Chapter. He is also the former chairman of the Board of Governors for the National Plastics Center Museum.
Steve serves on the boards of Family Matters and Strong Families, two organizations committed to strengthening family relationships. He is a licensed jet pilot and married to Barbara for 35 years. They have two daughters and five grandchildren
